Rick Estill of Short Gap, WV, passed away peacefully last Saturday, February 14th, surrounded by the love and comfort of his children.
Rick’s final journey was defined by remarkable bravery, as he courageously battled cancer for 65 days. Though his fight was short, the strength and grace he demonstrated left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the wider community that cherished him.
More than his illness, Rick will be remembered for the life he built and the people he loved. A resident of Short Gap, he was a devoted father whose children were his greatest pride and joy. His presence brought warmth and steadfast reliability to every room and every relationship.
To honor Rick’s memory, a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 4 Axes in Cumberland, MD. This gathering will be a time for sharing stories, finding solace in community, and remembering the resilient spirit of a man who faced his greatest challenge with unwavering courage. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
