Abby Gemme, Manchester Death,Obituary:A Graduate of Central High And Member of the Central Pride Foundation Has Passed Away
The Manchester School District is mourning the profound loss of a beloved educator and lifelong member of the Central High School community, Abby Gemme. A proud Central graduate, Ms. Gemme embodied the spirit of the Little Green, returning not just to teach, but to shape lives for over two decades.

Since joining the district in 2002, Abby Gemme’s presence was a constant, positive force. Her classroom was a place of support, where her kindness and dedication helped students build confidence in both academics and character. She was more than a teacher; she was a trusted mentor and teammate to colleagues, always ready with encouragement.
Her commitment knew no bounds. Ms. Gemme served as Senior Class Advisor, Track Coach, Unified Basketball Coach, Yearbook Advisor, and a dedicated member of the Central Pride Foundation. She devoted her personal time to students, attending nearly every school event and fostering a profound sense of community. Her absence will leave a void in the hallways and on the fields.
In a letter to the community, the district acknowledged the deep sadness and complex emotions this loss will raise, especially for Central students and staff. To support those grieving, the district has organized counseling sessions at Central High School on Tuesday, February 24th, with additional resources available on Monday, March 2nd, in partnership with the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester.
While the pain of her passing is deeply felt, Abby Gemme’s true legacy is one of unwavering care and commitment. She was Central High, through and through. Her impact on generations of students and her enduring “Central Pride” will remain a foundational part of the school’s spirit for years to come.
