Obituary for Luke McGrath Robert : February 21, 2026
Luke McGrath Robert, a young man whose vibrant spirit touched everyone he met, passed away tragically on February 21, 2026, in his hometown of Sierra Vista, Arizona. He was 20 years old.
Born on April 12, 2005, to Nolan and Kim Robert, Luke’s energy was infectious from the start. A 2023 graduate of Buena High School, he was known for his formidable work ethic, having worked at Big O Tires before beginning a promising career as a driller with Boart Longyear in 2025.
Luke, or “Big Luke” to his friends and “Uncle Pookie” to his adoring nieces and nephew, lived with passion and curiosity. He found joy in the mechanics of life, whether tinkering on cars and motorcycles, meticulously building Lego sets, or enjoying board games and the outdoors. His recent forays into skydiving and snowboarding exemplified his thirst for adventure. Above all, he was remembered for his constant humor and an uncanny ability to make anyone feel like a best friend.

In his final act of selflessness, Luke’s decision to be an organ donor will extend his legacy of helping others, offering hope and healing from his tragic loss.
He is survived by his heartbroken parents, Nolan and Kim; his sister, Kaitlin Belvo; his grandparents, Bill Wendt, Thomas and Lori McGrath, and Hulin Robert; his loving girlfriend, Elissa; three nieces, a nephew, and a vast extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his grandmothers, Debra Wendt and Elizabeth Robert.
A memorial service will be held at Hatfield Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 4:00 PM, where loved ones will gather to celebrate a life that, though cut devastatingly short, burned brightly with love, laughter, and an unforgettable spirit. Luke will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew him.
