McMinnville School District Community Mourns Loss Of Zakai Motley Who Passed Away Unexpectedly
It’s with great sadness that McMinnville Junior Baseball Organization shares the passing of one of our very own, Zakai Motley.
Zakai, an 8th grade JBO player, had a tremendous impact on not only his team, but this entire community. His smile lit up the room, and he was an incredible athlete who always wanted to be his best, carrying a true hunger for growth. He was a beloved teammate and friend whose presence will be profoundly missed.

As we move forward this season, we are committed to honoring Zakai and his passion for the game. His Mac JBO family also continues to hold his family, friends, and teammates in our thoughts and prayers.
The McMinnville School District community has endured significant loss over the last few years, and each precious student we have lost is a deep loss for us all. In response, the school district has shared resources for any students who would like added support during this difficult time. We encourage anyone who is struggling to reach out and utilize these services.
We will find ways to play for Zakai, remembering the joy he brought to the field and the light he brought to our lives.
