Peter Moloney Budgewoi, New South Wales Death, Obituary– North Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat Mourn Peter Moloney Who Passed Away
The football communities of North Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat are united in grief following the passing of esteemed past player, Peter Moloney. The towering ruckman, who made his home in Budgewoi, New South Wales, passed away on February 22, 2026, aged 54.
North Bendigo Football Netball Club official expressed its deep sadness, honouring a man who holds a unique place in the club’s history. Peter was a dual Senior Best & Fairest winner, with the remarkable distinction of claiming the awards a decade apart—first in 1994 and again in 2004, the year he returned after a successful stint with Kangaroo Flat in the Bendigo Football Netball League.

At Kangaroo Flat, Peter was a dominant force, a proud and pivotal member of the 1996 Senior Premiership side. He played with relentless strength, determination, and heart, leaving a lasting mark on all who played alongside him.
Beyond his on-field prowess, Peter was remembered as a “Gentle Giant”—a lovable and friendly character embraced by all at North Bendigo. His greatest pride, however, was his family. He was a devoted partner to Jos and a loving father to his two children, Jack and Kelly.
Both clubs extend their deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to Peter’s family and friends. RIP Big Pete. Your legacy of strength, loyalty, and kindness will be fondly remembered by all whose lives you touched.
