The South Bend Police Departmentβs Violent Crimes Unit is leading an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday morning on the cityβs southeast side.
Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of E. Bowman Street around 8:30 a.m. on February 21 following reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His identity is currently withheld pending family notification.
