Founder of Flagstaff Birth Support Fund Kristen Pearson Has Passed Away
The Flagstaff community mourns the peaceful passing of Kristen Pearson, a visionary force in perinatal support. While raising her own three children, she felt a profound calling, launching a second career dedicated to guiding others through the transformative journey of birth.
Her passion began with childbirth education but quickly expanded. Recognizing deeper needs, Kristen trained as a birth doula, offered placenta encapsulation, and provided postpartum care. In 2019, she founded the Flagstaff Doulas Collective, believing collaboration would both serve more families and create a nurturing community for the birthworkers themselves.

From this collective, her most impactful vision grew. She tirelessly paired newly-trained doulas with families, helping professionals gain certification while ensuring underserved community members received vital support. This direct effort crystallized into the Flagstaff Birth Support Fund, which she founded in 2021, cementing her commitment to accessible care for all.
Kristen entered each birth space with reverence, offering strength, comfort, and empowerment. She spoke of the beauty in connecting with families she might otherwise never have met. A beloved mentor and pillar of strength, her absence leaves a profound void. Kristen Pearson’s legacy of compassion and community will continue to nurture Flagstaff families for generations to come. She will be deeply missed.
